How to download your PayPal transactions

PayPal is a bank in the US and Canada. Export your transaction history as CSV, PDF, QBO, QFX, then drop the file into PennySlice — the AI categorises it for you.

Step by step

  1. Log in to PayPal at paypal.com.
  2. Click 'Activity' in the top navigation.
  3. Click 'Statements' in the sub-navigation, then select 'Activity download'.
  4. Select the 'Transaction type' (e.g. Balance affecting).
  5. Choose a date range (up to 12 months at a time).
  6. In the 'File type' dropdown, select 'CSV'.
  7. Click 'Create Report' or 'Download' and save the file.

Tips for PayPal

  • PayPal keeps up to 7 years of history, but you can only export 12 months at a time.
  • CSV exports can contain up to 50,000 records.
