Effective: July 25, 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies PennySlice uses, what data they collect, and how you can control them. For broader information about how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites remember information about your visit, which can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Local storage is a similar browser technology that stores data key-value pairs locally on your device.
These cookies are essential for PennySlice to function. They cannot be disabled.

Authentication cookies are HTTP-only and secure, meaning they cannot be accessed by JavaScript and are only transmitted over HTTPS.
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our marketing website. They are only set after you accept cookies via the consent banner. They are not used on the consumer web app, admin portal, or partner portal.

If you use the optional bank linking feature (paid tiers only), PennySlice opens a Plaid Link interface to connect your bank account. During this flow, Plaid may set its own cookies or use browser local storage to maintain the connection session. These are set and controlled by Plaid, not PennySlice, and exist only for the duration of the bank-linking flow. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. For details, see Plaid’s Privacy Statement.
We use your browser’s local storage for UI preferences. This data is stored only in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.
| Key | Purpose | Set By |
|---|---|---|
pennyslice-cookie-consent | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted/declined) | PennySlice |
pennyslice-theme | Stores your light/dark theme preference | PennySlice |
| UI state keys | Selected month, collapsed sections, and other interface preferences | PennySlice |
When you first visit our marketing website, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can choose to accept or decline analytics cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. If you decline, Google Analytics cookies are never set.
To change your cookie preference after your initial choice, clear your browser’s local storage for pennyslice.ai (or pennyslice.local in development) and reload the page. The consent banner will reappear.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies (authentication) will prevent you from signing in to PennySlice.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Effective” date at the top of this page.
If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@pennyslice.ai.
